The Hub

In 2020 we were awarded grant funding to build a structure at the garden which will be used as a shelter, meeting place, classroom and venue.

We have been lucky to find an innovative builder to design and lead the project.

The structure is a wooden frame supporting a canvas cover. It has three large entrances with cob and stone surrounds and recycled glass bottle windows. There will be scope to continue building on the walls with either cob or wattle and daub techniques to make a solid roundhouse in the long-term.

This project will be a community project open to anybody that would like to get involved and learn how to build with these traditional techniques and materials.

See event page for details of cobbing workshops this Spring and how to book.
